When you are ready to escape to the mountains with your family or friends, A Mountain Hyde-A-Way is the perfect place to retreat. This charming cabin has something for everyone. It features a beautiful new hot tub, a cozy outdoor fire pit, a large yard for children and pets, and peaceful outdoor areas to relax and unwind.

Located in beautiful Wears Valley, the cabin's central location is just 6 miles from Pigeon Forge, 6 miles from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, 9 miles from Townsend and 13 miles from Gatlinburg.

When you arrive at the cabin, you will find several convenient parking areas and a carport. The covered porch area has rocking chairs and a large swing, the perfect place to relax with morning coffee or unwind with a good book. The living room features a stone gas fireplace, a flat screen TV, new wood floors, candle lights and comfortable furniture for relaxing together while watching a movie or sporting event. There is also a chess table with 2 chairs for those who enjoy a challenge. The nearby kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare your favorite meals and has a dining table for 6.

The main level also has a cozy master bedroom with a log king bed. There is a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo located off the hallway. In the hallway, the shelves are stocked with games for all ages, and a closet with a full size washer and dryer is nearby.

A staircase leads to the top floor which features an open, loft style bedroom, perfect for children. It has queen bed and tucked away in a corner is a twin bed. For cartoons and shows, there is a flat screen TV with Roku options. Also on this level is a spacious bedroom with a king bed. The bathroom on this level has a vintage claw foot bathtub with a handheld shower head.

The backyard is the perfect spot for family or friend get togethers. The deck features a large picnic table for outdoor dining and a nearby charcoal grill for cooking your favorite recipes. A brand new hot tub at the end of the deck is the perfect place to soak away life's stresses or to unwind after a day of shopping or a hike. In the large yard, there is cornhole game and plenty of room for children and pets to play. At the end of the day, gather around the campfire in the evening to toast s'mores, watch fireflies and star gaze away from the city lights.

Year-round fishing and seasonal pool access is available nearby. A Mountain Hyde-A-Way has a membership for your use to the Honeysuckle Meadows Pool & Deli located approximately 3 ½ miles from the cabin. Fishing pole rentals are available onsite during the summer season.

Make plans to go fishing, swimming, hiking or tubing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park located just 6 miles from the cabin via the Wears Valley/Line Springs Road entrance. Just inside the Park entrance is Metcalf Bottoms, a fantastic picnic area that features tables, grills, and the cool waters of the Little River.

Day driving trips through Cades Cove, to Clingmans Dome, around the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, to the Mountain Farm Museum & Mingus Mill near Cherokee or on the Tail of the Dragon always make fun & enjoyable outings. The entrance to the new scenic Wears Valley/Walland section of the Foothills Parkway which took over 50 years to complete is located just 3 miles from A Mountain Hyde-A-Way.

For local dining near the cabin, some favorites are: Grandmother’s Kitchen, Elvira’s Café, Pawpaw’s Cajun Kitchen, Sloppy Hog Burger Joint, and the Wear Valley Social Food Truck Park.

Emotional Support Animals: Per official ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidance, emotional support animals (ESAs) are not covered by federal public accommodations laws. We do not accept emotional support animals in non-pet friendly cabins since these animals are not protected by any applicable federal, state, or local laws or regulations regarding short term lodging in Tennessee. Renters with emotional support animals may only bring their ESA with them if they are staying in a pet friendly cabin and pay the relevant $75.00 non-refundable pet fee. Renters with service animals for a disability are explicitly protected under both federal and state law. The ADA defines service animals as dogs that have been “trained to perform a task directly related to a person’s disability.” Service animals are explicitly protected under both state and federal law, and, as such, are welcome in any of our cabins.
