July 30, 2016

The Smoky Mountains are great for countless reasons. One of the best parts of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is that it is always FREE to explore! Take the trails by day and explore the beautiful Smoky Mountains! Vacations can be expensive, find inexpensive ways to make the most of your Smoky Mountain vacation!

The summer is a beautiful time of year in the mountains. Every season is beautiful in the Smokies in our opinion, but we may be a little bias. Summer is a magical time with the flowers in full bloom, the mountains at their greenest and the evenings are still warm and fun.

If you’re looking to be close to the National Park, our Smoky Mountain cabin rentals are only minutes away from the park entrance. Our Smoky Mountain cabins are near local attractions, dining and hikes. View all of our cabins that vary in size, location and amenities, perfect for the whole family!

Things to Do and Places to SEE

If you love a good hike and overlook, you’re in luck. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park has dozens of hikes to choose from varying in length, difficulty, location and sights to see. For easier hikes, consider Rainbow Falls, Abrams Falls, Andrews Bald, Grotto Falls and more.

The best part about these easier hikes? They all have magnificent views and waterfalls! These hikes listed above are great for the whole family to enjoy this summer. The heat can be exhausting during the summer months. Choose a short and sweet hike that you can fully enjoy despite the heat! (When hiking, always be sure to pack water and snacks!) For a full list of easier hikes, visit HikingInTheSmokys .com’s list!

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is filled with things to SEE! If you love encountering wildlife, it is very likely you will during your visit. The Smokies are home to various wildlife including deer, elk, black bears and more. If you see wildlife, be very careful and do NOT entice them with food. Feel free to take photos and admire the beautiful creatures from afar! Wildflowers are also prevalent in the Smokies and a beautiful sight to see indeed. Visit the National Park’s website and review the wildflowers of the Smokies guide prior to your arrival. See how many you can identify on your trip!
